And in other news, a police officer is currently recovering from a stab wound he sustained over the weekend. But this story gets complicated since the police believe the victim was not entirely truthful in his report.

According to 27-year-old Akeem Jones, he was driving with a friend around 11pm on Friday when, at the corner of Water Lane and West Street, he claims he saw two men beating up a third man. He reportedly exited the vehicle and tried to part the fight and that's when the two attackers turned on him, and one of them stabbed him. Jones then allegedly ran back to his vehicle and realised that he had been injured.

That's his story - but the surveillance footage at an establishment he was at reportedly tells a different story - one that doesn't involve him parting a fight but rather being the intended target. When we probed the police for information, though, they were tightlipped, giving only minimum details.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer

"Firstly, this officer was at an establishment and I'm certain you are aware of the fact that even though the curfew have been extended on weekends, it doesn't extend for the opening of bars or other gambling establishments other than casinos. But we are investigating this matter, he was stabbed indeed. The nature surrounding the stabbing incident is being investigated because the establishment had surveillance video and we will do further reviews and I can give you proper detail."
