And he wasn't the only member of our security forces that was attacked this weekend. A coast guard officer, 25-year-old Kyle Humes, was ambushed in front of his home and stabbed repeatedly around 1am on Sunday. He was listed in a stable condition but police have just commenced their investigation since, according to ASP Yearwood, they weren't able to properly interview him.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer

"Coast guard officer Mr Humes, he reported to police that he had just arrived home on Hart Street and upon exited his vehicle, he was attacked by two men that were armed with a knife each, who inflicted several stab wounds to him, to his hand, in his face, and his body. He was transported to the KHMH where he is listed in a stable condition."

"From what the investigators put in this report, they are yet to do a detailed interview because when Mr Humes arrived at the hospital, the importance was for him to receive treatment for those injuries and I know they were to follow up with him in obtaining a statement, hopefully when we get that statement like you rightfully said, this attack was direct and personal, so we might get a better understanding of what caused these assailants to attack him in a brutal way."
