And while Tanga was Friday morning's murder victim, the spree of violence started last night. 26-year-old Michael Lambey was with his friends, only a stone's throw from his house on Curl Thompson Street, when he was killed.

Those closest to him told us that he didn't have problems with anyone, but couldn't say the same for the people he called friends. Courtney Menzies visited the grieving family today and has this story.

26-year-old Michael Lambey was hanging out with his friends at this store on Curl Thompson Street last night - a regular routine for him - but that would be the last time anyone saw him alive.

Two men reportedly came towards his group from Mudd Street and opened fire on them. Lambey tried to run, but he collapsed and one of the gunmen stood beside him and shots him point blank, killing him on the spot.

A cloud of grief hung over his family today and his father, who was too torn up to say much, mentioned that his son is now at rest. His sister recalled when she saw his body lying in the back of a police truck.

Kalis Mckay, Sister of Deceased
"I hear a lot of gunshots, I was lying in the house and I watched on my phone and when I ran out, I saw a car fly past, a black car, and that I see and when we run and we see blood on the ground and they said it was my brother and my ma, we went. His friends already took him to the hospital and when we went to the hospital and I see him in the truck back, I just cry because it hurt. I never believed my brother would die… like I don't know."

And she believes that he was murdered-by-association.

Kalis Mckay, Sister of Deceased
"His own little crowd that he had, they had their little thing they were going through but I don't know if it was they that set that up because it was a whole bunch of them drinking like what they usually do in front of the shop and… I don't know I just think it happened so quick."

Courtney Menzies:
"So he might not have been the intended target?"

Kalis Mckay, Sister of Deceased
"No, not really, it could have been anyone to get shot but he was the unlucky one."

And she's still trying to figure out who could have wanted Lambey dead, since she says he didn't trouble anyone.

Kalis Mckay, Sister of Deceased
"He's always laughing and thing, and always like… he have his girlfriend and his girlfriend was looking for him, she came three time looking for him yesterday."

"He was a nice person though, I don't know him to hurt anybody but just because of his little friend he hangs with, I think it was that and he was just in the wrong position."

Lambey had no children.
