Street Figure Uses Bathroom Break To Escape Police

He's a notorious name on the streets of Belize City, and tonight Edward Saldano known as "Scrubbie" is somewhere in those streets on the run from police.

The 22-year-old - who is on remand for armed robbery - somehow managed to escape from police at the Belize City Magistrate's Court cell block after asking to go to the restroom.

He had to sneak past a number of areas manned by security guard or police before bolting.

About 3 hours earlier, Saldano was taken into Court #1 where he appeared before Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser. He was denied bail and further remanded to the Belize Central Prison until April 7 on an alleged aggravated assault with a firearm case.

Tonight, police are actively seeking his re-arrest.
