And the on Saturday night, there was a violent death in Santa Rosa Village, and while police initially labelled it as a murder, it is now being classified as manslaughter. That's because the suspect, Manuel Bo - who has been charged - told police that he chopped the victim, 37-year-old Jeremiah Ack after Ack allegedly burglarized his house. Communications officers, ASP Yearwood told us more about the change in charges.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"This was Manuel Bo, a Guatemalan farmer of that village, who reported that his house was broken into sometime during the day, this is the 5th around 4:05pm when police visited that scene where he showed them the lifeless body of Jeremiah Ack, 37 years ol Belizean, unemployed of Santa Rosa Village. He reported to police that while he was doing his own investigation into the burglary at his house, he approached Ack where an argument ensued between both men and he cause the injuries to Mr. Ack. He has since been charged for manslaughter. We are certain that the consultation occurred between the investigators and the DPP's office. Thats the directive to charge for manslaughter instead of murder."

Reporter
"Did he had any evidence that his residence was burglarized by the deceased?"

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"The deceased nickname was "Rabbit" and according to him, somebody told him that Rabbit was the person that broken into his home. But I am certain that it had to be that investigators found out that either he didn't pull the weapon that may have caused the fatal injury to Rabbit or else he would have been charged for murder as opposed to manslaughter."
