We now report the police's investigation into the fatal shooting of 38-year-old Reynaldo Marchand and his cousin, 31-year-old Nazir Vasquez.
Two weeks ago, the two were socializing in front of Vasquez's business place when a gunman and his accomplice arrived on a motorcycle. The shooter jumped off the bike, ambushed the men, and opened fire. Marchand passed away in what appeared to be a targeted execution attempt on Vasquez, who survived multiple gunshot injuries.
Police say that they've heard a lot of rumors surrounding this case, but no facts that they can use to make an arrest:
Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police

"I cannot speak to rumors. I know there are a lot of rumors going around, and they have not been able to be confirmed. But certainly, yes, from what took place in Belize, we do have suspects in mind. We have brought in some persons for an interview, but we have not been able to ascertain definitively who is responsible. Again, the lack of evidence, and the lack of cooperation, is an issue. And so, the investigations just continue until we can perhaps get the evidence we need to be able to levy charges against any person."
