Earlier this week, Andrew Ashcroft put out a quite remarkable statement. He said that he was leaving the country for good, and with his kids - of whom he has sole custody, and that and that he had, quote "gifted to Jasmine 10% of the issued share capital of the holding company of The Belize Alaia Hotel." End quote. He added that he intended to obtain an independent valuation of these shares and to provide her with what he called "their fair value."

Well, Jasmine has struck back with a statement fo her own. She says he has, quote, "fled with our children to Turks and Caicos" and that his "statement contains a number of falsehoods which need to be corrected."

She claims she had quote, "no participation nor notification" in the custody process - which she described as "rushed, wrought with error and…subject to appeal."

And apart from custody matters, Hartin's statement issued today also discusses that 10% holding in the Alaia. She claims, quote, "As partners in the Alaia hotel, I held 10% of shares as an independent partner and no gift was involved. This is subject to ongoing legal action. Andrew has subsequently denied me access to all of my business accounts and personal accounts, all for apparently punitive reasons." End quote. She adds that he makes reference to a common assault charge, quote, "which states I was trespassing on a property that I owned." End quote. She closes by saying, quote, "I have every intention to continue to fight to gain a fair trial and be reunited with my family….The children have not been allowed to speak to me or even send a message for over 4 weeks...I have every intention to be reunited with them in a joint custody solution." End quote.

Hartin is awaiting trial for the manslaughter of superintendent of Police Henry Jemott - and it could be heard in the ongoing criminal session of the Supreme Court.
