56-year-old Wayne Reynolds was today sentenced to 84 years in prison after being found guilty of 4 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old minor.
Back in June during his eight-day trial Reynold s was made to face his accuser and her mother when they took the stand to testify against him. The minor who is now 14 told the court that Reynolds had engaged in sexual intercourse with her on a total of four occasions.
In his defence, Reynolds said quote: "It wasn't me," telling the court that there was only one occasion when the 12-year-old girl came by his house but that she never entered because he drove her away and she left.
Reynolds sentences are set to run concurrently so he will only spend 21 years in prison and will be eligible for parole after he has served 15 of the 21 years. That sentence took effect from June 20, 2022, the day Reynolds was found guilty and went on remand.
