He was caught burglarizing a home - and it wasn't just any old home - it turned out to be a cop's residence and tonight Dwayne Mark Gentle is starting a 7 year prison sentence for it.
On Monday Gentle broke into the home of Inspector Hendrick Williams located at #141 West Street and stole 20 sheets of aluminum zinc value $641.00. Inspector Williams got a call form a neighbor and rushed him to find Gentle pulling off in a cart with 20 sheets of aluminum zinc piled on it. He also had an 11 year old boy along with him.
In court today, Gentle who was unrepresented pleaded guilty to burglary. Gentle had confessed to police that he did not know it was a cop's home he was burglarizing.
This is Gentle's second conviction for a crime of dishonesty and so the Senior Magistrate gave him the minimum mandatory sentence of 7 years imprisonment.
