And Saldivar is so convinced of his innocence - and so determined to convince the public of it - that he's probably the first man ever within these shores to call for the US to extradite him! Here's how he put it:

"I would want them to make a request to the Belize government for extradition, because you know what that would mean, it would mean they have to provide the government of Belize with the evidence against me and that evidence would have to be tested in a court of law here in Belize before I am extradited. So I would get my day in court. But I want to bring a finality to that extradition thing one time, that will never happen, because they don't have the evidence and if they have it I would want them to bring it."
