But that's not likely to happen - meaning that the perception which has been stalking his political career in these recent years will continue to plague both him and the UDP.
So why not just save everyone the headache and humiliation and just walk away from politics and the public life?
Well, like every other politician, Saldivar said he's the only one who has that special something:

"People ask me well why don't you come out of politics and left the UDP to pick somebody new. To do that at this point when I know I have not done anything illegal. There may have been as I said in the past, judgement issues, but who don't make errors if you want to call that way and as long as you contra it as I am. I believe that the Belmopan people now, I don't have any interest in national politics at all. My interest is continuing to serve the Belmopan people and why? because I don't see the person on the horizon, not the current and not any on the horizon, any of the aspiring people who love to do the things that I have done for Belmopan."
For the record, we have asked Saldivar to appear on Uncut here on Channel 7 numerous times, but he has declined.
