And while the surveillance video of the double murder and home invasion is one of the most chilling sequences we've ever seen….the truth is we weren't supposed to see it. And neither were you! On Sunday night, the whole surveillance video showing the entire double murder started whipping around the internet at the speed of WhatsApp - and by today, everyone who wanted to see it - and many who didn't - had gotten a copy.
But where did it originate? Our feeling is that it came from the police. Today the Commissioner denied that:
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"The video that is out there was not release by the police. We try to keep those very important evidential material as confidential as possible. So the others that we have as much as I know you'd want to get them, you will not get them and yes I have an issue with the one that was release. I think it was too graphic and it can certainly affect the victims psychologically to have to relive that entire ordeal and I just think that as a media, you all need to be more responsible. Maybe they could have blurred it or something, but they just put it out there raw and I find that to be very inappropriate."
