And while those two men were murdered, three lives were lost in fatal traffic accidents over the weekend. We'll start in Ladyville, where 22-year-old Joshua Martinez was killed while trying to jump start his vehicle - early on Saturday morning. He was on the side of the road with an off duty police officer, David Griffith, and another man when a drunk driver ran into his vehicle, which then slammed into him.
And now, Martinez's close knit family is trying desperately to come to terms with the loss of a young man who should have been getting ready to celebrate his birthday.
Courtney Menzies spoke with his aunt, and has this story.
Joshua Martinez would have been celebrating his 23rd birthday tomorrow, but instead of a party, his family is now planning a funeral. That's because Martinez was killed by a drunk driver early Saturday morning in Ladyville as he was parked on the shoulder of the highway.
Keisha Zuniga, Aunt of Deceased
"My nephew, one of his friends, and his girlfriend were together in the vehicle, they were going that direction to Eruption, and the vehicle shut down, his vehicle shut down, so he parked his vehicle on the lefthand side, right."
"So when he parked his vehicle on the lefthand side, the friends were coming from Eruption to give him that jump so the vehicle could have started."

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"The driver of a vehicle, Mr Manuel Ramos was travelling from the direction of the 24-hour gas station towards Belize City where he, unfortunately, collided with one of the vehicles on the scene causing that vehicle to hit Mr Martinez who died on the spot. Mr Griffith also received injuries and was transported to the KHMH."
And the grief over Martinez's death has blanketed his family, who loved him immensely. His mother was unable to speak about her oldest child, and his aunt said that call on Saturday morning devastated her.
Keisha Zuniga, Aunt of Deceased
"When I received that news on March 18th, at 5am, and I got that news, I literally fell to the ground and I did not go on the scene, I didn't have the strength to do so because I needed to be strong for my sister, so I didn't go on that scene any at all."
Reporter
"We know that somebody has been arrested and charged and we know that person was driving under the influence, how much more does this compound everything that you're feeling?"
Keisha Zuniga, Aunt of Deceased

"It... [sighs]. I am lost for words, hence the reason I am taking my time to say what I need to say. It… It… that young man doesn't know what he did to my family. So… he did a lot, especially to my sister, hence the reason I am here speaking on behalf of her because she is not in the right state at the moment to speak to the media. She's not out here to tell people about my nephew so he doesn't know what he did to my family."
And as a DJ, Martinez's passion was entertaining others, and his aunt said that he was the man to call if you wanted to have fun.
Keisha Zuniga, Aunt of Deceased
"He worked for himself, he's a DJ, he is always on the hustling side, he hosted a lot of shows, he DJ's for many different clubs, people want parties and so they hire him, and so he was well known."
"He was a very jovial person, he's very amicable, Joshua is very lively, Joshua is very active, and Joshua is free handed. Joshua helped a lot of people, he was always willing, he was always… willing to give that extra hand, that lending hand. Whoever knew my nephew knew that he was loved by many."
And the process for justice has started with the arrest of Manuel Ramos, who was charged for driving a vehicle with due care and attention, causing death by careless conduct, manslaughter by negligence, and have an alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit.
Martinez had no children.
Ramos will also be charged for the injuries that PC Griffith and Martinez's friend sustained.
