And, quite tragically, another of the weekend's fatal accidents involved two boys in Blue Creek, brothers who'd gone for an early morning ride on a motorcycle in Blue Creek.

But, the boys wouldn't survive it, and by 8:00AM police were processing the scene that claimed the life of 7-year-old passenger Matthew Kraan while placing the 12 year old driver Isiah Kraan in critical condition.

It's a jarring scenario, a boy driving a motorcycle all on his own without any adult supervision, but this does happen in Mennonite communities.

Tonight, that 12 year old driver is expected to still be fighting for his life at the National Regional Hospital. We heard more from the cops earlier today.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer "I know that on Saturday around 8:00 AM police responded to a scene where Isiah Crane, 12 years [old], was driving a motorcycle and he was accompanied at the time by Matthew Crane, 7 years [old] when he collided into a Toyota 4 runner, driven at the time by Susan Fraze. We know that the boys were transported to the Western Regional, to the hospital sorry where the 7-year-old succumbed to his injuries and Isiah is listed in critical condition."

Courtney Menzies:
"Did they drift into the other lane or something?"

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Well, um, based on the information sent to us, it would want to suggest that they did."

Courtney Menzies:
"And in this case where a12 year old is driving a motorcycle, can the parents be faced with any time of charges?"

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Well, we know that the investigators are looking at every angle when it comes to this accident. We know that in some of these Mennonite communities for the purpose of work their machinery is operated by minors at times. Where the law goes, to which extent the law goes when it comes to their usage of this machinery and equipment we would really have to review and carefully go through the laws to see the offences if any were committed by these minors. So it's a very difficult investigation but um as soon as I know more you will know more."

Courtney Menzies:
"What about the woman driving the vehicle, was she served with any kind of N.I.P."

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Well, that was not indicated to me but whenever a traffic accident occurs even if you are not deemed to be at fault because you are the driver or the operator of a vehicle involved in that incident you will be served with notice of intended prosecution until your name has been ruled out as anybody liable or being held accountable."
