And Placencia is only one of the places where you'll be seeing heightened police presence. Yesterday, the ComPol explained that officers have been deployed to the more popular destination to keep the peace and ensure that residents are safe over the next four days.

"We are stepping up our policing efforts across the country, particularly those areas we know Belizeans normally travel to during the Easter holidays. We're looking at San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Placencia, Seine Bight, San Ignacio, Hopkins, and members of our specialized units are being deployed to these areas to make sure that our residents who go to these different parts of the country to spend time with their family or to recreate that they can do so in somewhat a safe environment."
