And while the police continue to look for Thompson's killer, today another accused murderer was in court. 26-year-old John Hyde Jr was arrested and charged for the murder of 45-year-old Floyd Samuels, known as South.
As we reported yesterday, Samuels was inside his Caye Caulker home when two men approached asking for "Fonto" leaves. Samuels turned to get it, and that's when several shots were fired, fatally injuring him.
And today, Hyde was brought via boat to Belize City to be arraigned. However, upon his arrival at San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi, he had a few words for someone he claims can verify his alibi.

"Me and you were together when your brother got murdered. You all get your lawyer and you all find out more about it, because he was set up."
In court, he appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, who told him that no plea would be taken from him at the time. Due to the nature of the offense, bail was denied, and Hyde was remanded until July 25th, when he will appear in San Pedro's Magistrate Court.
