And turning back now to my interview with Commissioner Willams, we caught up with him today in Dangriga where he and his team were conducting a meet and greet in the New Site area.
Willams says there's soon to be a new precinct in the area, but explained that, until then, the boots on the ground have to keep up good relations with the neighborhood.
Chester Williams, Comissioner of Police
"We are being proactive in our actions and um, we don't need to wait for something to happen before we do something, we are here to greet the people of the new sit area, Dangriga to hear from them to get their feedback and see what they feel about the police services in this area and what they would want to see the police do, we are currently in the process of, um, establishing a police precinct in the new site area, hopefully in the next couple of months, we should have that precinct up and running and that will be done with a view to ensure that we give more better service to the people back here, you would know the central, the one Central station downtown is extremely far from here and response time is extremely long and it is only right that we put something in place to be able to facilitate the police services for the people that live in this area."
