Man Remanded, Accused Of Stealing Hilux

Iguana Street resident, 29-year-old Kevin Buller is spending his first night in prison after he stole a $73 thousand dollar Toyota Hilux from off Red Bell Street in Belize City in May. Buller appeared in court today and pleaded guilty to the charge of theft. The magistrate then imposed a one-year custodial sentence to take effect from August 31st. The owner of the vehicle, 21-year-old vegetable vendor Julissa Tun reported to police that on the night of May 26 the vehicle was stolen from in front of her property between 7:00 pm and 4:00am. Buller was not offered bail and he was remanded to prison.
