There was an increase in policing activity within the Kontiki area of the Cayo district on Monday morning, after a woman was found dead inside her home. Jomarie Lanza went to Cayo today on the trail of a story with many unanswered questions.

Not much is known about the circumstances under which Danielle Veronique Parraton lost her life at this property in the Tres Puntas area of San Ignacio. When we went there today the gate was locked and there was no movement on the compound. Those we spoke to nearby didn't know much about the mother and daughter but unofficial reports say that on Monday morning her daughter Mahault Claudette Jarossay told the property manger that her mother had committed suicide and she then boarded a taxi to flee the compound, reportedly on her way to the airport. But police were alerted and she was intercepted and she has been charged for manslaughter. The post mortem results say Parraton died from asphyxia due to neck compression or strangulation. But, what happened in the house between mother and daughter that led to the older woman's death? Tonight, that is still uncertain.

Police have not said what the women were doing in San Ignacio.
