A family in the Orange Walk District is desperate tonight - looking for a loved one - a working man - who suddenly disappeared. His family has spent the last few days trekking through the bushes and forest surrounding the BSI factory - with growing uncertainty that they will be able to find their loved one - who went missing on Saturday.
It's a sad and desperate story complicated by misgivings within his family.
Jomarie Lanza reports:
Today marks day three of the search for 31 year old La Inmaculada Marketing Officer, Oswaldo Vasquez who mysteriously disappeared on Saturday night allegedly after a night out drinking in the company of his wife and brother in law.
According to a police report Vasquez was allegedly under the influence when he got out of his brother-in law's truck while parked at Shell Gas station in front of BSI, and ran off towards some bushes near the BSI factory.
His loved ones have not been able to locate him since, and tensions are rising between both sides of the family given the manner in which the story keeps unfolding about the night Vasquez disappeared. His sister claims that she saw her sister in law near the football field in Palmar the night her brother vanished.

"I just met her right here by the football field by palmar cause I was going to my house and I met her around minutes to 9:00pm and I met her with the two kids as I asked her where they are going and Lukie answered me and said he doesn't know where they are going and when I asked him again he says he doesn't know. But she didn't talk to me she didn't even tell me anything and so I turned around and continued going home and I stood in front of my house watching her to see if she would go by the bridge and leave and she continued to walk I think to her mom and after that I didn't know what happened I don't know nothing else because he didn't tell me my brother is missing."
"Until like minutes to three when a friend message me and tell me you know when happened and I said no I don't know and she tell me you know what Leni post and I said no I don't know anything and she screenshot the post and send it to me and tell me see Oswaldo is missing where is Oswaldo? And I told her I don't know. I don't know why she is posting that and I saw her last night and she told us nothing. We don't know anything about it and she went to my mom's house and didn't say that her son is missing or ask for us to help search for him. She told us nothing. We got to know because of other people. Other people told us he was missing."
And while the family continues to look for answers, Vasquez's mother claims that there are too many holes in the story, and they are having a hard time differentiating the truth from falsehoods:
Voice of: Viola Vasquez, Mother of missing victim
"My daughter in law came to me on Sunday asking for Oswaldo and I told her he wasn't here and she just sped off in her vehicle and didn't say another word but then I got to learn that he has been missing since Saturday night. More people started to come and ask me about the news because they saw it on facebook and at that point we went to look for my daughter in law to talk to her. We found out she wasn't at home. She was staying with her mothers and so we waited for her to arrive. And when she arrived I couldn't even speak to her because she was screaming hysterically and her mother was the one who had to let me know what was happening. And that's how we confirmed he was indeed missing and I didn't find out until Sunday."
"The thing is they keep changing their story every minute it makes no sense. We hear one thing from her mom, then her sister, then her and it's like we can't figure out what's the truth or not. But there's this watchman who said that they saw him in a car that dropped him off here with another person. But the way they keep changing their story we really can't tell which story is true."
While they haven't lost hope in finding their relative, Ryan Sutherland, Vasquez's nephew says that they have come to terms with the fact that they may not find his uncle alive.

Ryan Sutherland, Nephew of missing victim
"Since Sunday we've been here early in the morning and we've spent the entire day until nightfall looking for him, we spent Monday as well the entire day until the sun sets and we've tried everywhere we've searched high and low every corner you know but it's just a handful of us we can't comb the whole area perfectly you know and here Tuesday we are trying our best again to maybe find a clue or something that can lead us to him."
"It's not getting any better you know as time passes the hope just decreases and it's taking a toll on the family you know heavily and everybody is starting to think the worst outcomes possible everybody done have this mindset that we are finding a body you know the chances of him being alive is very slim and that takes a toll on everybody up to the kids."
