He's one of Belize's most notorious alleged killers - accused of murder many times but never convicted. But, now Nimrod Tillett - may be going to Mexico to face murder charges there.

He was taken to court in a wheelchair today - after being shot in July. Police say he is a wanted man for an alleged murder charge dating back to 2019 - that's waiting for him in Mexico.

Today in Magistrate's court, an application was made for his provisional arrest for 60 days. Tillett is the subject of an extradition request by Mexican authorities. When the Chief Magistrate asked Tillett what he had to say on his own behalf, Tillett said he hoped that he would not be remanded to prison in his condition after still trying to recover from his recent gunshot injuries. Tillett, who was unrepresented told the court that this is the third time that he has been detained and arrested in regards to that murder in Mexico.

In consideration of his condition - the Chief Magistrate remanded him for the 60 days but required that he be brought back to court at the end of the month to see if he is being properly accommodated at the prison.

If no substantial evidence for his detention is brought in 60 days, Tillett will be released.
