And so while those two men are Belize's most wanted tonight - the Compol says that last week they were in police custody as part of operations responding to reports that a bail of cocaine was in the hands of criminal elements.
A bail comprises 26 one-kilo bricks of cocaine - and is worth close to half a million dollars at street prices in Belize.
And that's what has been fueling underworld rivalries on the island for the past few weeks. The commissioner told us about the detentions of these suspects which could not lead to charges:
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"And I can tell you that since the beginning of this year the San Pedro police have removed over 20 firearms off the streets, including some very high powered weapons. and over 400 rounds of ammunition. And so that goes to show the extent to which they have been doing operations and as a matter of fact they did one just last week. And do seem to individuals who are not suspects were detained as a part of that operation. But again you know, the Issue with attorneys, calling and pressuring the police and eventually they were released from custody. And then what happened last night took place."
