One inmate still remains at large after having escaped police custody while being transported back to the central prison on Thursday. Police confirmed that both escapees managed to pick the locks of their handcuffs, and used a speed bump near Cotton Tree to their advantage, allowing them to jump out from the police vehicle. On Friday, police managed to capture 30 year old Brian Castillo on the Valley of Peace road, but are still in search of his accomplice 30 year old Daniel Carvantes. Here's what OC Hilberto Romero told us today in regards to the search.
A.C.P Hilberto Romero, Regional Commander, Eastern Division
"Last night Around 7p.m. police responded to an information received on the Valley of Peace Road near the Agripino Cawich bridge. There they found a male person who initially gave the police a certain name. The officers recognized this person as the wanted person for the escape from police as Brian Castillo."
"He was detained until getting into custody."
