Last month we told you about how 34-year-old Rondell Jacobs just barely survived after he was knocked off his motorcycle on the Hattieville/Boom Road while heading to work. He was missing for three days before his family found him lying in a ditch. Today, he's still recovering in the hospital, but his family has run into some issues. For one, they believe that he was intentionally hit, based on the tire tracks near where he was found. His mother told us today that her son had confided in her that someone had been following him. She also explained that there is another person who is collecting funds on their behalf without their knowledge. We spoke to her outside the hospital.
Therese Jacobs, Mother of Accident Victim

"His phone, they track him everywhere he do, this individual, everywhere he go they know where my son is. An I'm not going to hide anything, everywhere my son goes, they track my son. He comes home, mom, certain person is tracking me. I'm like, my son, God is with you, I'm a praying woman, but you gonna be okay. My son was in a deep depression, he's a man of God and he's afraid that if he would do things God would be upset with him."
"He kept it to himself, I tried to talk to him, but he wouldn't open up as much but he has friend that I found out he was talking to so I know exactly what my son was going through and when I found out, I cried to myself, I cried, because we were warning him. but it all happened this way, we cannot change it and he was an adult."
"My son is going through a lot, he had broken ribs, he had kidney problems, right now his lungs is giving a lot of problems, his left lung, just this morning I heard a little bit of good news and praise God, every little good news for me is a joy for me. His brain went down as much and his eyes are open and he is nodding yes, nodding no, there's not much we can get through but he's moving, his hands are moving, and we are glad for that but right now there is someone out there trying to do a fundraising for him because I have gotten two calls from someone out there I don't know if I have received a package of money to help my son with the situation that they have heard and seen on the media and I said, I don't know what you're talking about and they have given me two names, I don't know who they are and I'm sorry I will not give out any information about my son for someone I don't know about. So I reach out to a lot of people that knows who he is, all I need I prayer."
"If anybody giving this person any money that's between them and that person because I'm not receiving any money from anybody else but some people that call me like the Tubal school is helping, I have family in the states that is helping. I'm not complaining in financial, it's hard, right now his bill is over $11,000, still in ICU and I'm asking, I'm begging, not asking, begging for help in any way if it's a dollar, I would appreciate it."
Jacobs says she has not received any update from the police on the investigation, and she is concerned with how they are handling the case.
