Yesterday we told you that Hilderbrandt Codd, the fugitive on the run, was convicted of murder. But he wasn't the only one who wasn't in court to receive their verdict. Justice Ricardo O'Neil Sandcroft found 26-year-old Tracy Betancourt NOT guilty of another murder.
She's the San Pedro resident who absconded on the day her verdict was supposed to be handed down, back in July 2022, while she was out on bail. She was charged jointly with 38-year-old Leon Walford for the murder 49-year-old Lamont Lipka, who was gunned down at his business place, Tropicana Restaurant and Bar, in 2018.
While Walford was convicted of murder and sentenced to 27 years imprisonment, Betancourt was still on the run, and today she was found not guilty, since there was no substantial ties, except that she was present on the scene. However, she will still have to face the charge of escape since she absconded.
