
Last night was a bad one for police as two officers were stabbed in different incidents.
The first happened around 5:30 in Red Bank village. 34 year old off duty cop, Perfecto Tush was stabbed in a confrontation with a group of village men who had been drinking. They were outside a grocery store when they accused him of staring at them. When they approached him, Tush pepper sprayed four of them - two ran off - and the other two stabbed him several times to the face, body and neck. He was rushed to the Independence polyclinic and Police detained one of the men who was drunk. Police also recovered the bloody knife at the scene. One of his attackers was also stabbed.
And later on, at about 10:00 pm at the Bus Terminal in Belize City - another cop was stabbed. He is 27 year old PC Faustino Makin - who was in a fight with a 69 year old mentally ill man, who stabbed him in the mouth with an unknown object.
Makin's injury was not life threatening.
