A Taiwanese diplomat was tied up and robbed at gunpoint on Saturday night, around 7:00, in Central Farm. The 27-year-old was at home cooking when two men entered his home carrying pistols. He was attacked and robbed of thousands of US dollars. He was then knocked out and later realized his vehicle keys were also missing along with his ID cards, passport, camera and his computer. The police told us today that they have on suspects yet.
ACP Hilberto Romero, Regional Commander, Eastern Division
"Upon arrival they met a complainant who reported that he heard his dogs barking. He came out, at which point he was held up by two male persons armed with firearms. He was taken inside, tied up and he received injuries during the process. Thereafter, the male persons stole cash and electronic items, after which the persons fled from the area. We have no suspects at this time."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I know that they were looking in the area to see if they can find some video footages that may be able to assist the investigators."
"We are doing our best to see if we can find out who these persons are and we ask the public if they have any information pertinent to the identity of these individuals to feel free to contact us or call the 922 number and provide information."

"This incident does raise a few citizen security concerns. What would you say to that? I mean Central Farm, it's kind of far, you know."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"Well, Central Farm, you know that the Cayo District has been prone to transnational crime and in many instances the perpetrators of this crime would be persons who would come from across the border."
"We're not saying that in this particular instance, that is the case. But it is something that we're looking at. And again, the police, we are stretched extremely thin. We wish that we would have police in every community across this country. But unfortunately, due to our numbers and resources, we cannot."
