Shane Bennett made news in 2022 when he dashed away from the Punta Gorda Town court house after he was found guilty of the murder of Anthony Parks - which happened in Independence Village in 2020.

Well, he was immediately recaptured and this week he was sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole after 25 years. 4 years were deducted for his time on remand.
