
Tonight, 7 San Pedranos are lucky to be alive - and one in their group is believed dead - after their skiff sank in southern waters.
Around 2:30 - the Coast Guard got a call reporting that a passing sailboat said they rescued 4 persons between Tarpon Creek and English Caye. But, they also found one more person motionless. They learned that the 5 San Pedranos were on a skiff with 8 persons - and it sank.
The Coast Guard launched a search for the remaining 3 and found them at 4:00 pm two miles East of Spanish Caye - this is all in the Turneffe range of islands.
All 7 who had been rescued and the one motionless person were rushed to Dangriga. One of them needed urgent medical care and was rushed to the KHMH.
So what happened to their vessel that caused it sink? And when?The Coast Guard said they have not interviewed the persons and that is a matter for police.
The captain of the vessel that went down is Armando Graniel and the person in need of urgent medical assistance is Jason Magana.
