He's a man who once falsely posed as a crop - but on Saturday Aaron Wilson was the victim of police abuse, or what an attorney calls a flagrant violation of human rights.

On Saturday - as the owner of a courier service - one of his motorcycle deliver men was detained because the motorbike had no license. Wilson called the Station to explain that he had the receipt for the license but that the Belize Transport Department was out of stickers, so none was issued. But, Wilson says that the officer on the phone hung up on him. So, he went to the station and said that uttered words to the effect that he had gone (to the Station) "to mark the face of the Officer who had disrespected him over the phone". And he captured what happened next:

Wilson was charged for Boisterous Behavior and held for 20 hours. Crown Counsel Riis Cattouse has written to the Commissioner of police saying his extended detention was excessive.

In his letter he says the Belize Police Department continues to act with willful disregard to and in violation of our laws when it comes to detaining persons….and continues to commit flagrant human rights violations almost on a daily basis.
