In 2016, Lincoln Bejerano was accused of killing Isidro Suar, a taxi man in Belmopan. His body was found in the Piccini area with gunshot wounds to the head. Bejerano was arrested and charged for the crime of murder after he was found in possession of Suar's vehicle. Following his arrest that same year in October, Bejerano escaped from Belmopan police and was listed as one of Interpol's most wanted. He was later recaptured in May of 2019 and has been in prison since awaiting trial.
Well, that trial concluded yesterday and Bejerano was found guilty of Suar's murder by Justice Antoinette Moore.
Bejerano is known for a long history of carjacking and robbery crimes in Belmopan.
