With one more week left in the trial within a trial, Bradley maintains that anything can happen at this point which will set the tone for the full criminal trial that will follow. He adds that while the preliminary trial is necessary, it's been a bit of a long stretch delaying the much anticipated outcome for all parties involved.
Dickie Bradley, Attorney
"Well, if it was left to us, on one more day, this would finish. This is unfortunate because you all heard the prosecution say to the court, we are going to ask for a longer adjournment because there is another case in San Ignacio."
"We don't agree with that. that is why I was asked to put in writing that the lawyers doing that other case agree that we should try to finish this. So, we do not agree with that. We agree let's get out of the voir dire and let's get on with the case. We not in favor of that, and the magistrate has been very serious and contacted the other magistrates and has been able to work out an arrangement as she announced that when we come back one week right through and if they do not bring the additional seven witnesses they are threatening us with, the voir dire will be over and we could get into the proper hearing."
The trial is set to continue on May 27th- 31st.
