Last week, Doris Grant was taken before the court for 40 counts relating to alleged land fraud of $120,000. But police sources suggest there is a much larger investigation against her - and that investigation took an unusual team of police officers to her home in the Port Loyola area today.
A strike team of more than a dozen cops led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Richard Rosado went to her Reggae Street home to conduct a search. We don't know for what at this time - and Grant was not at home this evening. But we do know that this is the second search on one of her properties in a week.
Last week Monday police broke down the door at her residence in Sandhill to search that property.
Police believe that Grant swindled a group of Mennonites from Shipyard out of millions of dollars. How many million? As many as five, according to our sources.
We have asked her about these claims - and she flatly denies it. She suggests a broader and far more sinister criminal conspiracy against her.
We'll keep following the story.
