And while it sounds like the minister wants to implement something resembling Jamaica's notorious gun court - where would that put Brady Tillett? He is allegedly the person who supplied the weapons to Trevane Thomas, the suspect who is accused of shooting at the Commissioner's house in Belmopan.
Tillett, we stress, has denied having any involvement in this.
Today the ComPol said that he had a conversation with Thomas before he was sent to prison.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"If you watched Channel 7 last night, against Jules always have the hottest scoop, even harboring the criminal because the criminal was in his studio doing the interview even though he is wanted. That person is not an ex police, I know he goes around and says that he was a special constable, I don't know, I am not aware of that, I don't know if he was a sworn special constable or just worked with police, I know for a fact that when I became commissioner, he came to me and was asking to be a special constable, and I did not honor that request so I don't know of that."
Jules Vasquez:
"So this individual, Brady Tillett, is wanted, do you believe he supplied the weapons to the person who shot your house?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"That is what the evidence is pointing to."
Jules Vasquez:
"I know you did I'm told a very usual thing, or maybe not unusual for you, but though there is a committal warrant for the suspect who was arraigned last week I'm told he was held at the Belmopan Station just so you could meet with him upon your return and that you did meet with him for an hour in your office. Are you able to say what you learnt?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I did meet and spoke with the young man, not for an hour."
Jules Vasquez:
"But you held him against a committal warrant for prison."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"He had a committal warrant and he went to prison on Monday. The committal warrant was issued last week Friday. Because of the time, the warrant was obtained, he could not have gone to prison until monday so that is not usual, that happened everyday at police station where people with committal warrants remain at the police station until the next date to be taken to the central prison. The next day would have been a weekend, we don't take prisoners to prison during the weekends, it is normally during the week, it is not unusual."
The ComPol chose not to disclose information from that conversation. We note that since Thomas was arraigned on Friday morning, in the normal course, he could have been sent to prison that afternoon.
