And, while it isn't time to panic, neither is it time to overspend.

Natural disasters stretch the scarce resources regular people have at their disposal and the prime minister urged families not to spread themselves too thin with overshooting.

The PM says to only stick to the essentials, and be mindful of what you are spending on.

John Briceno, Prime Minister

"Well I think most importantly don't go out there and buy a lot of stuff that you don't need because from the looks of it it's not going to be a full blown hurricane, a full blown hurricane that is going to be breaking up everything. It seems that there is going to be some wind and lots of rain especially in the northern part of Corozal and lesser Orange walk. The rest of the country seems to be fine. Belize City well we are almost at sea level so whenever the water rises there may be a little bit of flooding but I don't expect that there is going to be any major damage so please don't go out and spend money that you don't need to spend right now."

And, NEMO's latest advisory notice stresses that essential services remain open in the Belize, Corozal and Orange Walk Districts, and in San Pedro and Caye Caulker. Employees must report to work tomorrow.

The PGIA will remain open tomorrow, pending any significant change in the track of Hurricane Beryl. The Port of Belize closes at 9am tomorrow and will reopen upon declaration of all clear.
