And while they are looking at the data, as we told you earlier, the real time sense of citizen security seems to be eroding.

We refer to that incident from last night where the former governor of central bank was tied up in his home as his vehicle and gun were stolen. That and other crimes like it, make regular citizens feel unsafe - even in their own homes. But today the prime minister would not concede to any erosion in the sense of citizen security. He said things like this happen all over the world.

John Briceno, Prime Minister
"I concede nothing. I think that Belize is a safer place than before but you will find these things. You find them in the United States, you find them in London, you find them anywhere in the world. What I think you should also commend us is that more and more of these crimes we are breaking them we are getting them and we find the criminals. Minister Musa mentioned several of them in the house, something that did not happen before because we are investing in technology we are investing in DNA technology we are investing with the police training them and making sure that we can go after these criminals and we are going to go after every single one of them."
