Cyclist Fatally Injured At Entrance To Corozal

A hit and run in Corozal Town on Thursday night has left one man dead. It happened between miles 81 and 82 at the entrance of Corozal town on the Philip Goldson Highway just after 9:00.

32 year old Aurelio Perez was riding his beach cruiser when he was hit from behind by an unknown vehicle. Perez was flung off his bicycle and onto the pavement, and sustained fatal injuries. He was transported to the Corozal Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police have not yet detained any suspects.
