The child asked him for a $1 and because she didn't give him back his change, he attacked her. It happened on Saturday July 5th while the child was walking home. 20-year-old, Frank Young, a Construction Worker of Ladyville, is accused of sexually assaulting a 9 year old child. The minor in the company of her mother filed a report on July 9th and told police that she recognised Young as her older cousin's boyfriend and had asked him for a dollar. Young then took out a $10 note and told her to take a dollar for herself but to bring back his change. After returning from the shop, she says she saw Young running towards her and he allegedly grabbed her from around her neck and squeezed her behind. He then allegedly continued to threaten her in a sexual manner but she managed to run away. Young appeared unrepresented in court today before Chief Magistrate, Deborah Rogers who read him two criminal offences of one count of sexual assault and one count of harm upon a 9-year-old girl. He pleaded not guilty to both charges and was denied bail due to the nature of the charges. Young was remanded to the Belize Central prison until October 29th.
