An older man on Caye Caulker says his companion for the night robbed him of a licensed Glock pistol.
The 73 year old reported to police that on Sunday morning at 3:00 am, he fell asleep in the company of a woman he knew from childhood days - he described her to police as "thick built with black hair".
When he woke up the next day, she and his firearm were gone. ACP Romero gave us more details.
ACP Hilberto Romero, OCED
"Dennis Gelinas, 75 years, reported that he invited a person to his house to spend the night. He had his firearm on him, he reported that he woke up in the morning, he realized that his firearm had been stolen and the male person was nowhere to be found. We're seeking this person at this time for investigation."
Courtney Menzies:
"How are the two persons connected?"
ACP Hilberto Romero, OCED
"He is claiming that they are friends."
Courtney Menzies:
"The gun was licensed?"
ACP Hilberto Romero, OCED
"Yes it is a licensed millimeter pistol."
Courtney Menzies:
"Where was the firearm kept?"
ACP Hilberto Romero, OCED
"He claims he had it on his person."
We note that the suspect is a woman - not a man as Romero stated.
