On Friday we reported that the Ministry of Investment had pulled the plug on GMK Sky Ltd., the parent company for San Pedro's Caribi Bleu Casino. The cease and desist order may have come months too late for what had all appearances of a rogue operation - but it was effective. On Friday night, for the first time in months, the casino went dark. None of the flashing lights were on at what has emerged as the island's most popular Casino.
We note that the owner, Ray Rima was recently arrested in Florida for gambling violations there - and it remains to bee seen what the scrutiny of US law enforcement will bring to light about his operation here in Belize.
