And while Gamboa is shuttling all over the country gifting bags and supplies and his SPU vehicles are loaded down with bags - is he still doing police work? The SPU is one of the most important crime suppression outfits in the country - it's not designed for community policing. We asked Gamboa how he manages both:
Jules Vasquez
"You have a fulltime job Mr. Gamboa, you da no the schoolbag penetration unit, you are the Special Protection Unit."
Supt. Aaron Gamboa, SPU Commander
"Right. I have to focus in the Martin's area. Like I say again, I have a logistic team that deal with this for me. As you notice I am on the ground everyday, deal with the bags, deal with the job, stay focus on the job, listen to my radio if anything in Martin's Bakatown - I am on top of my game."
