
The Belize Mexico Center - it's been in a woeful state of disrepair since Hurricane Lisa in 2022. But, Cabinet has decided to put three quarter million dollars into repairing it.
The weekly Cabinet brief says Cabinet gave its approval to allocate $750,000 for the restoration of the roof and other works for the Mexican Sports Center.
The multipurpose sporting facility was gifted to Belize by the Government of Mexico at a cost of 10.5 million dollars and opened in 2020. The Cabinet brief says, quote, "Restoring the facility, which includes the installation of a new roof and other necessary structural and functional restorations, will immediately reinstate a high-standard venue to the national inventory."
