The trial-within-a-trial or voir dire in the triple-murder case against 49-year-old former police corporal Elmer Nah continued today before Justice Nigel Pilgrim in the High Court, with the defence challenging the legality of a police house search conducted on New Year's Eve 2022, the night of the killings.

This morning, the court viewed three body-camera videos nearly three hours of footage showing police officers combing through Nah's Belmopan home room by room.

The defence focused on what it called discrepancies in the timing and validity of the search warrant.

The videos also showed that no firearm was found during the search. Items seized included a head-lamp allegedly used during the murders and a police issue battle-dress uniform belonging to Nah. The defence argued that no warrant was presented to justify the seizure of the head-lamp.

Both Nah and his wife could be seen recording parts of the search on their phones - which is the video that we have.

The voir dire continues Friday with testimony from two police IT technicians. Next week, FBI personnel are expected to testify virtually on Monday.

The case stems from the New Year's Eve 2022 triple murder that shocked the country. Nah was detained as a suspect after the late-night search of his home shown in the body-cam videos.
