And we zoom in now to the shooting in Majestic Alley - where one man was killed, and a minor was injured, along with two others.

So, imagine holding your baby while walking around in your front yard, when a barrage of bullets come streaming towards your home. That's how events unfolded last night in the Alley, which resulted in the injury of a two year old - and the death of the 28 year old who was trying to cover him. Jomarie Lanza spoke to the badly shaken up mother of the child today - both grateful that her child survived and grieving for her friend that gave his life to save him:

There were 21 markers on the pavement last night. It was eerily quiet when just a short while earlier, around 8:30, the sound of gunshots pierced the calm of a Wednesday night in the Fort George area.

Today, we counted more than a dozen bullet holes that hit the door, window, tv and cement walls of this home here in Majestic Alley. And the family that lives there says that they are traumatized after last night's events where things could have turned out much worse.

4 persons - including a 2 year old - were shot - and 28 year old Dane Gillett did not survive.

The baby's mother told us what it was like:

Natasha Clark, Mother of Shooting Victim
"We were right at out home as usually hanging out in front of our house so what they did was very wrong and I don't have much to say about it because of how it happened so quick I was in shock I couldn't even move and if it was not for that young man who passed away I think my baby would have passed away also he saved my baby's life so yeah."

Clark's baby is stable but the 2 year old now has a bullet lodged in his back and the family is still making arrangements to have it surgically removed. She says that Gillet - who in February got off the murder charge for 15 year old Dwayne Gabourel - was the one who shielded her baby, but him that meant taking multiple shots which proved fatal:

Natasha Clark, Mother of Shooting Victim
"He is like a brother to us, family. It really hurts me how he passed away."

"Those people have to put down their gun and stop doing these things because it makes no sense and my baby was innocently playing in front of his house and it is like your house isn't safe neither because there are a lot of bullets in the house also, even through the TV lots of bullets are so imagine if my baby was in the house what would have caught him, maybe a head shot you know."

"I am really not doing good I hate how my baby is in pain and I also feel it for the family of the boy that passed away because, whooo."

"it really really hurts, it really hurts."
