A Belizean driver who was en route to Belize through Mexico lost his life on a slippery highway coming down through Acayucan. It happened between 10:00 - 11:00 am Belize time on Saturday. The Orange Walk resident, identified as Ariel Serrano, was reportedly driving a Dodge 3500 Ram pickup while towing a Ford F-350. Due to slippery road conditions and a slight downhill, the Ford pickup became unstable and started to drift. That caused him to lose control of the Dodge pickup - and he was flung out of the cab unto the pavement when it crashed. He died on the spot. We were sent photos and videos by other Belizean drivers passing the area. They said they had left the US with him on Thursday.
