Another murder has been recorded for the month of October, this time on Caesar Ridge Road in Belize City. The victim is 39 year old Gilbert Conorquie who had been reported missing over the weekend. His body was found this morning but while the family has closure, there are still plenty of questions that remain. Courtney Menzies was on the scene this morning and has this story.

A family's missing loved one was found dead this morning around 8:20. 39 year old Gilbert Conorquie was already decomposed in an empty lot that doubles as an alleyway for residents to walk through.

Conorquie was said to be mentally ill and often wandering the streets. But, reports say he had been fatally shot. So why would someone want to kill him? Police aren't sure just yet.

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"The body has since been identified as Gilbert Conorquie, 39 years of age, a Belizean of Rivero Street address. Mr Conorquie's body exhibited signs of injury and it now awaits a postmortem examination. What we do know is that on the 27th of October a relative of Conorquie reported him missing, last seeing him on the 26th of October."

Courtney Menzies:
"Do police know if he was killed in that area or dumped there?"

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"The ongoing investigation has not established that as yet."

Courtney Menzies:
"There are security cameras around, have the police spoken to the persons who own them?"

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"Certainly, police have done their canvassing of the area and have interviewed several persons who they believe can assist with this investigation."

Courtney Menzies:
"Any motive established?"

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"It's an ongoing investigation, no motive has been established."

Conorquie's family declined an interview.

We'll have more police news later on in the news.
