In another death in the west - police today filled in information on the shooting death of Ryan Hyde - who was shot on the 24th and died on the 27th.
It happened in Georgeville and a police report says it happened on Friday night at 9:30 on the Pine Ridge road in the Cayo District. Police responded and found a white 4 door 4X4 pickup truck parked on the side of the road with no occupants and blood stains in the driver's seat. Investigators believe that Ryan Hyde had already been transported to the Western Regional Hospital for treatment with the gunshot injury to the head.
But despite that information which we got from an internal police report, today we were told that police have not been able to establish a crime scene.
ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"On Friday, 24 October 2025, sometime after 9 o'clock p.m., police visited the San Ignacio Hospital upon being informed that there was a male person there with apparent gunshot injury. Police ascertained the identity of that male person to be Ryan Hyde, and on Monday, Mr Hyde succumbed to the gunshot injury that he received."
"Police are following up on a number of leads as it relates to Mr Hyde. Mr Hyde's investigation proves particularly difficult because we have not been able so far to conclusively establish a crime scene."

"We have some indications as to where it may have occurred and what may have been the motive in relation to that. However, it is a matter that is under ongoing investigation and it will be disposed as it becomes necessary to do so."

"So they ruled out the possibility of a vehicular accident. However, it indicates that there is a shattered back glass and the passenger, the rear passenger was shattered. It has not been confirmed it was a bullet or force or anything like that."
ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"What I can say is that a vehicle is one of the possible scenes that have been explored and we are undertaking the necessary forensic examination to be able to make a determination."
