65 year old Canadian National Marty Thorne, owner of Raw Spa Cabanas, was found dead outside her home this morning. Her body reportedly exhibited stab wounds. Police told us what they know so far.
ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"The caretaker of a property own by Ms Thorne reported to police that upon visiting that area, he would have called out for Ms Thorne but was not able to locate her. He made further checks on the property and that is when she was located in the yard with visible injuries to the body. The scene was processed by scenes of crime personnel and the body of Thorne now awaits a postmortem examination."
Reporter:
"Is there any connection to the home invasion that occurred last week in that community?"
ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
"We have made some developments as it relates to last week's incident where the Dodge Ram was stolen and we will be divulging that as it becomes right to do so. What I can say is that we have not been able to establish any conclusive nexus between these incidents but it is an area that is being noticed and observed by police, there are a number of police operated cameras and there are a number of operational units that operate in that area because it is indeed an area of interest."
Thorne was well known in her community.
