And there was another non-fatal shooting over the weekend, this time in Corozal Town. A businessman's vehicle was shot up on Santa Rita Road, but no one was injured. According to police, he does not know why he was targeted.

"The responding officers observed a red in color pickup truck, which exhibited several bullet impacts and the investigation so far has revealed that the owner of that pickup truck arrived at the business establishment and shortly after would have made his way inside, he heard several shots being fired."
"Police have spoken to the owner of this vehicle and in the course of speaking to him, he has indicated that he has no reason to believe why he have been targeted. Not withstanding this, the investigation continues, we have canvassed the area and spoken to a number of persons who we believe will be able to assist us in this ongoing investigation."
