On Tuesday, a woman was arrested for human trafficking related charges. 46 year old Reyna Urbina was charged by the Anti Trafficking In Persons unit of the police department for 2 counts of sex trafficking, and 2 counts of labor trafficking. The allegations against her are that Urbina trafficked two adult women from Central America for both labor and sexual exploitation. She is currently out on bail of $10,000 until January 16 when she will be back in court.
Urbina - a well known resident of Orange Walk with origins in Nicaragua - was convicted once before back in 2023 for facilitating the commission of an offence after she pleaded guilty to helping a Guatemalan woman enter into Belize illegally. She was jointly charged with two other persons.
